Welcome to your handmade watercolor Advent Calendar. Here you will learn all the colors that are included. Along with their pigment codes and pigment names.
Did you open them all at once? Haha I do not blame you. I would do the same. If you do not want to be spoiled, please don’t continue reading.
Here we go:
My husband was in charge of naming all the colors. I had some rules of course. 1. It had to be Christmas / winter / holiday season themed. 2. No cheesy names like Mistletoe or Rudolph’s nose. I think he did a great job.
1. Chestnut - PR101 + PBr8. Red iron Oxide + Raw Umber
The Red Iron Oxide used in this paint is Vintage. It’s by the brand “Old Holland” and it dates from the 1960s. But technically it’s millions of years old. Since it’s an earth pigment of course.
2. Winterberry - PR178 - Perylene Red.
A deep and opaque red. It doesn't go trough a heavy drying shift which makes this red perfect anything that needs this bright red color.
