Color Bomb - Directions for use

WARNING! Super Staining! Protect your workspace, clothes, paper, pets, plants and so on. The pigments are safe to use and do not contain harmful ingredients, but they are super staining. Please use the little spoon or use gloves. These will also stain AFTER use. Protect your finished artwork with a fixative or hairspray.

The little jar is closed secure with tape. Please remove tape carefully. Pigments can drop out. 

 

There are different ways of using Color Bombs. 

  1. Dry pigment on wet paper. 
  2. Dry pigment directly on a wet brush
  3. Dragging a wet brush over pigments you just sprinkled
  4. Dissolved into a paint.

  1. Dry on Wet paper
  2. Wet your paint area with clean water
  3. Use the little spoon to scoop some of the pigments out of the jar
  4. Carefully sprinkle the pigments on your wet surface
  5. Wait an see the pigments bloom into your wet paper.

Let the area dry completely. Carefully tap away loose pigments. Don't brush them away, this is cause lines. (resulting in effect no. 3)

You can also sprinkle them on top of a painted area. 

Dry pigment on a wet brush. 

  1. Wet your paint area with clean water
  2. Wet your brush
  3. Dip your brush carefully in the jar to pick up some pigment. The brush will pick up a lot of pigments, so only dip the little tip. Or use a smaller brush. 
  4. Paint your area. 

Let the area dry completely. Carefully tap away loose pigments. Don't brush them away, this is cause lines. (resulting in effect no. 3)

Dragging a wet brush over pigments you just sprinkled

  1. Wet your paint area with clean water
  2. Use the little spoon to scoop some of the pigments out of the jar
  3. Carefully sprinkle the pigments on your wet surface
  4. Wait an see the pigments bloom into your wet paper.
  5. Use a wet brush to drag the pigments further into your painting. This will give an interesting texture. 

Dissolved into a paint.

  1. Scoop a little pigment our of the jar and place it into a dish or paint palette. 
  2. Add water
  3. Mix until all pigments are dissolved
  4. Use the mixture as you would ink or watercolor.
